THE NORWEGIAN TRANSPARENCY ACT

The Norwegian Transparency Act came into effect on June 1, 2022, and is a Norwegian law that aims to promote transparency, access to information, and public openness in public administration. The law seeks to encourage businesses’ respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions both in the production of goods and provision of services.

Additionally, the law ensures public access to information about how businesses address negative consequences of fundamental human rights and decent working conditions.

The law is based on the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and imposes an obligation on Aspire Brands to provide information and conduct due diligence assessments.

This entails that Aspire Brands must provide the public with access to information about these matters, as well as the efforts made to ensure compliance with the law. Aspire Brands’ compliance with the Norwegian Transparency Act is carried out in accordance with the OECD’s methodology for due diligent assessments. This work will be an ongoing process involving suppliers, business partner, and collaborators.
